Hi, again. You'll recall that our theoretical reading for Tuesday's class is Homi Bhabha's "Dissemination: Time, Narrative, and the Margins of the Modern Nation." It's a demanding piece of scholarship, as you've no doubt discovered, but it'll reward your attention, and it should certainly enhance your reading of The Satanic Verses. If you can at least read the first three sections carefully (that would be "The Time of the Nation," "The Space of the People," and "Of Margins and Minorities"), that would be great.
